Sam scores 21/24 in online tournament

Written by Coach Dimitrios

On Saturday 27th June the Junior Talent Squad tournament took place online on the LiChess website. Sam was the winner with 21/24 points starting with 16 wins in a row! The arena format awarded him for the impressive streak collecting a total of 72 points, which is the highest score in a Wallace Chess tournament so far. Sam’s favorite trap is the “fried liver” which he used successfully in over ten games. This proves how important it is for all students to master how to defend against it.

“Sam has shown great improvement throughout this whole year. He is an attacking style player and he has proven to be one of the best puzzle solvers in our Junior Squad.”
Coach Apostolos

Charlotte was the player to beat Sam in a tactical double-edged game winning both 2nd place and 1st Girl trophy for her performance. Overall it was an amazing day!

Congratulations to all participants
and I look forward to next term.
