Summer Chess Camp week 2

Swiss Cottage

by Coach Cameron

This week’s camp saw a tight race at the crest of the tournament, eventually won by the talented Alexander. Harry also performed impressively, managing to place second despite his eight years of age. The biggest surprise for us was watching Medha, only 6, clear the lower and middle fields to claim a phenomenal third place. All the kids showed a wonderful relish for the camp and the enthusiasm of female beginners – such as Eva, who won best sportsmanship – was particularly encouraging.

– Joke time –

This week’s camp was not only fun but very competitive! The kids learnt a whole host of fun games such as hand and brain, alongside the tournament and lectures we ran throughout the week.

Highlights included my favorite joke of the week (see above).

I can’t wait for next camp and I hope to see the kids soon!
